Hello! My name is Kimberly Mendoza (she/her/ella) and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. My focus is to bring healing to others, helping folks overcome life’s challenges, and destigmatize and decolonize mental health in BIPOC and other marginalized identifying communities.
I received my Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from California State University Riverside and my Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from California Baptist University. Throughout my professional life, I have worked in a variety of settings including the non-profit sector, with children on the Autism spectrum, community mental health, and school settings. I have been trained in evidence-based modalities (ex: Brainspotting, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Ecotherapy Level 1), yet utilize a strength-based, holistic, mindfulness.
I strive to establish a non-judgemental, peaceful and safe environment where clients can openly express themselves. Everything you need, to live the life you want is already inside of you, this is the core belief that guides my therapeutic work. Together we will nurture the strengths that have led to your resiliency.
I am first-generation chicana from parents who immigrated from Jalisco, Mexico. I utilize this lens in holistically treating folks, with the aim of reducing the stigma of mental health, breaking the cycle of generational trauma and decolonizing mental health treatment. In my work with BIPOC and other marginalized identifying communities, and offer services en español.
